UPDATE POST MARCH 3 PRIMARY 3/20/20

Well, my campaign for county central committee is officially over. After four days of election results updates, it is clear I'm not going to make it. I have no regrets, I knew it was going to be a longshot with five incumbents running for reelection with 17 of us running for six spots. I ended up in 15th place with 7,074 votes.  I wish to thank all of you and to all the people who voted for me and to congratulate the winners who finished in the top six.  All ballots in Orange County have been counted as of March 20, 2020.  All California counties must complete the ballot count by April 3, 2020 and California Secretary of State Alex Padilla must officially certify the elections/votes by April 12, 2020.

I AM RUNNING FOR JOE BIDEN DELEGATE

Here in the 48th Congressional District where Harley Rouda is our congressman, I am running in the district-level national delegate selection caucus scheduled for April 19, 2020, to be a delegate pledged to Joe Biden.  However, because of the worsening coronavirus pandemic, that is up in the air. Here in the 48th Congressional District, five national convention delegates, three female and two male, are up for grabs. Also here in the 48th, both Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden managed to capture 30% of the vote each, meaning each candidate will get two delegates, male and female. Michael Bloomberg got 16.3% of the vote here as well, which would entitle him to one female delegate, but he has since dropped out, so I don't know what is going to happen with that delegate. Before the March 3, 2020 deadline, I put in my delegate candidacy for Biden. Again, because this pandemic has gotten worse, I don't know what is going to happen with the delegate selection caucuses or if there will even be a convention.

California's 74th Assembly District

The 74th Assembly District consists of Costa Mesa, Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods, Newport Beach, the southern part of Huntington Beach and the southern part of Irvine.

What Is A Central Committee?

The Central Committee is the arm of the Democratic Party of Orange County (DPOC).  All county parties in California answer to the state party, the California Democratic Party.  And all state parties report to the Democratic National Committee.  There are seven assembly districts that make up the Central Committee.

Each assembly district sends six people to the Central Committee.  Our district, the 74th Assembly District, is one of them.  For more information about the Democratic Party Orange County Central Committee, check out this link:

I am one of 17 candidates running for six spots of the Democratic Party Orange County Central Committee for the 74th Assembly District. Of the 17 candidates running for the six slots, five are incumbents (four elected, one appointed). Six of us, myself included, have been endorsed by Congressman Harley Rouda!

This is our Congressman Harley Rouda of the 48th Congressional District who has endorsed me for CC!

I support building on the Affordable Care Act, protecting it from attacks by opponents and by offering Americans a public option like Medicare.  I also support immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship.  I also support tackling the climate crisis by supporting the Green New Deal, including making sure the U.S. reaches net-zero emissions no later than 2050.  We also need a foreign policy that does not turn our allies against us and we need to stop buddying up to our enemies like Russia.  I also think we need to tackle gun violence by having universal background checks as well as banning the sale of assault weapons and high capacity magazines or any kind of weapon and ammunition that is meant only for combat/war and banning the sale of guns to those with felony convictions and mental illness as well as those arrested for domestic abuse.  Red flag laws would also be helpful in removing guns out of the hands of unstable people.  I also think taxpayer money should be used to support public education, not private or charter schools and certainly not school vouchers.  We also need to strengthen Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and not kick people off Social Security Disability, the Supplemental Security Income program or the SNAP program who are not able-bodied.  Finally, I support bolstering middle-class competitiveness by investing in our infrastructure.  Locally, we need to do more to enforce restrictions on the granting of permits for sober-living homes in Orange County, oppose fracking which contaminates our water and causes man-made earthquakes (just like in Central Oklahoma), preserve Banning Ranch from developers, keeping the noise at John Wayne Airport at reasonable levels, oppose the development of the Poseidon desalination plant that could harm sealife in the ocean and stop the nuclear waste dump at San Onofre, which is a major-league catastrophe waiting to happen.
